HOME sweet HOME

The last time I published a blog post I was a North Carolina resident. In fact, when I started this blog, I lived in Charlotte, NC. Crazy! But, this post comes at you from the Sunshine State – my new (old) home. It’s DMV official –>  vehicle registration, license plate, DL and voter registration obtained. Also, added Walt Disney World season tickets, a gym membership and a blow dry bar membership to the arsenal of cyclical habits. I have arrived.

For those of you who don’t know me, I am originally from Orlando, Florida. I moved to the Charlotte, North Carolina area about 4.5 years ago to pursue my MS in Human Nutrition. While in NC, I also managed to snag my husband and a puppy (mission accomplished). I will always be grateful for my time up north (yes, FL girl here, reporting for duty), but I am so happy to be HOME and closer to the equator.

The first thing I noticed about Orlando upon returning is the massive restoration of The City Beautiful. Maybe I took the city for granted when I lived here for the first 26 years of my life, I don’t know. But I do know, Orlando is embracing and expanding its distinct personality. There are way more farmer’s markets, independent restaurants, festivals, and parks than I remember. Most importantly, there are a dozen vegan-ish friendly restaurants (including a vegan hot dog cart downtown!!!) within 5 miles of my new home.

Now it’s time to reboot the theme/style of this blog. I am excited to share my vegan finds, local gems and, of course, theme park adventures in a new city!
