When I think about living a healthier life, the first things that come to mind are diet and exercise. The truth is, however, that diet and exercise only comprise a small part of the healthy living equation. Everything we do, from brushing our teeth in the morning to tucking ourselves in at night, matters. What we think, say and act on makes a difference on how “healthy” we are. For me, diet and exercise are the easiest components to conquer in the quest towards creating a greener and more compassionate life. Diet and exercise tackle the human body, spirit and mind. But what about the planet, the human home?
That’s where the teeth brushing, hair washing, dish cleaning, floor mopping, sheet shopping, etc… times infinity(!!), presents purpose.
Ever since I embarked on my vegan(ish) diet years ago, I have slowly and intentionally started to convert different areas of my non-food life to be more eco-friendly. This includes, but is not limited to, household cleaning products. Yes, the all-natural chemical-free cleaning products might be slightly more expensive, but what is the planet worth?! I sincerely hope it’s worth more than a cent or two…
If you’re shopping at Target:
If you have 0.0293 cents per ounce to spend, you can save the planet. SO EASY!
In other planet-friendly cleaning news, Naturally Clean came over today to make my home so, so fresh. We’ve hired this company two times in a row now because they use non-toxic chemical-free products which are planet, kid and pet friendly. The first time we hired them, we had neither a kid nor a pet. The second time, we had our sweet puppy, Bagel, who acted like a fool (but in a super cute, forgivable way). She has since adjusted to her royal corner being clean and green. All humans and animals deserve to live and breathe in a clean, non-toxic space.
Seriously, if you are in Charlotte, call Naturally Clean. I am an honest consumer who did not get paid to advertise and would not take money if offered. I am sincerely praising the local brand – no strings attached!!
If you are not in Charlotte and want a non-toxic clean space, I recommend two things:
- Purchase products that are committed to protecting the planet, even if they cost a few dollars more. VOTE FOR THE PLANET!!!
- Hire a cleaning company that is committed to protecting the planet, even if they cost a few dollars more. VOTE FOR THE PLANET!!! It’s totally worth it.
Clean & Green,
